Christmas Time
Christmas stories have a very specific visual language. For this story about three friends trying to catch Santa, I wanted to focus on warmth and wonder.
The Color Palette I used a classic Christmas palette: deep reds, forest greens, and warm golds. The interior scenes are lit by the “fire” (or warm lamp light) and the Christmas tree lights. This creates a cozy, safe feeling that contrasts with the cold snowy night outside.

The “Santa” Design The story hints that Santa might actually be Sameer’s dad. This was a fun design constraint. I had to draw a Santa who looked traditional enough to fool the kids, but if you look closely, you might see the resemblance to the father character. I focused on the eyes and the shoes to drop these visual hints.

The Perspective of Children Much of the story involves the kids hiding behind sofas and curtains. I drew several panels from a low angle, effectively putting the reader on the floor with the children. It enhances the feeling of sneaking around and waiting for the big moment.
